The brief for this project was to create an abandoned barn with a strange alien residing inside. I took inspiration from 1980s arcades and artwork of Sandy Smith. For the robot I wanted to create a fluid, elegant creature. I took inspiration from the work of Hajime Sorayama.


One of the highlights of this project was teaching myself Houdini in order to create the snaking cables in the barn. By using a procedural generator I was able to create wires that flowed from the center console in a controlled yet random way.

I used Houdini to create the wires growing from the center console. I was inspired by the work of Vladimir Lopatin for Horizon Zero Dawn.
